Supportive Family Friendships (SFF)
One of NEIGHBORING's oldest services, SFF is for the family members of persons who have a suspected or diagnosed brain disorder or chemical dependency problem. Support and understanding, accurate and up-to-date mental health information, and the learning of health coping skills are available to all members.
SUPPORT - Groups meet twice monthly, and are conveniently scheduled on different days of the week and in two different locations.
EDUCATION - Special quarterly meetings keep members informed about the latest research and helpful area resources. Local professionals specializing in various fields present topics chosen by SFF members.
SOCIALIZATION - A summer picnic and a winter holiday party are organized each year, providing opportunities for groups and families to get together in a fun and light-hearted atmosphere.
